Join us for a creative workshop by Studio Mangue exploring our affective relationship with bodies of water through conversation, movement, and collective artistic expression.
We live in a city whose name carries a deep connection to water. Yet, through its planning and urban design, it has created a rupture in our embodied relationship with water. Access is limited, swimming is restricted, and many of us experience water as something scenic rather than fully connected to our everyday lives.
This workshop invites us to reflect on our bodies as water and on our relationship with it. It also prompts us to imagine our city’s bodies of water as living spaces where we can play, swim, gather, and reconnect with ourselves and each other.
This gathering will take place in a circle format, creating space for reflection, shared dialogue, and creative exploration. The session will include moments of movement, paired and group conversations, and a guided artistic activity in collaboration with DrawingTO.
Participants will be invited to sit primarily on the floor, fostering a more grounded and intimate environment. Chairs will be available upon request, and we are happy to accommodate different needs to ensure everyone feels comfortable.
When: Saturday - April 11th, 2026 from 2pm to 5:30pm
Where: Underscore Projects - 1468 Dundas St W - 2nd floor - Toronto, ON M6J 1Y6 (Dundas/Dufferin)
Tickets: $10 (if cost is a barrier, please reach out - we want this to be accessible!)
Refund Policy: All tickets are final sale. Contact us at least 24h in advance in case you are not able to attend the event, and we can transfer your ticket to a friend or someone you know, or to a future event.
If you have any questions or accessibility needs, please reach out: vivian@studiomangue.com
