A Closing Workshop with Klara Vanzella Yang

Join artist Klara Vanzella Yang for a final creative activity inspired by her exhibition Repetition & Rupture at Underscore Projects.

Working with paper, colour, and shape, participants will create their own tiled compositions using a simple grid and a selection of colourful paper squares. Through cutting, rearranging, rotating, and recombining shapes, we’ll explore repetition, variation, and disruption to create unique patterned surfaces.

The workshop draws directly from the geometric patterns and modular systems explored throughout Repetition & Rupture, offering an opportunity to experiment with some of the ideas behind the exhibition through hands-on making.

Come spend time with Klara, look at the exhibition through a different lens, and play with colour, form, and repetition as we bring the exhibition to a close.

No art experience necessary - just come ready to cut, arrange, experiment, and play with colour and form.

All materials provided.

When: Saturday - August 29, 2026 - 2:30-5:30pm

Where: Underscore Projects - 1468 Dundas St W - 2nd floor - Toronto, ON M6J 1Y6 (Dundas/Dufferin) (Please note that the gallery space is accessible only by stairs)

Tickets: $10 per person (materials included!) Limited spots!

What you will make: your own tiled compositions using paper, colour, and shape. 

Workshop Details 

• Duration of 3 hours
• Recommended for 10+ (children must be accompanied by a parent or guardian throughout the workshop)
• Our Café will be open throughout the workshop with specialty coffee, tea, snacks and sweets. 

After class

Continue the gathering after the workshop. Stay awhile, enjoy the space, and explore the current exhibition - we love being a place where the community can slow down and connect.

Photography

Photography and/or video may take place during the workshop for documentation and promotional purposes. Images may be shared on Underscore Projects’ website and social media, as well as by the participating artist.

If you do not wish to be photographed or have your image shared, please let us know when you arrive. We’ll do our best to accommodate your request.

Refund Policy

All tickets are final sale. If you are unable to attend, please contact us at least 24 hours in advance and we can transfer your ticket to a friend or someone you know.
